Michigan State started its 2015 class off with a bang by landing a commitment from an in-state prospect on Wednesday.
Quarterback Jayru Campbell (Detroit/Cass Tech) tweeted that he committed to the Spartans while on a visit to East Lansing. The 6-foot-3, 175-pound signal caller held offers from Notre Dame and Eastern Michigan, but ultimately chose the Spartans.
Campbell had been talking up Michigan State recently, but the Spartans initially weren’t his favorite. It was a recent hire by coach Mark Dantonio that helped land the local prospect.
