ESPN 150 athlete Dravon Henry (Aliquippa, Pa./Aliquippa) listed his top four schools about two months ago with the understanding it would slow down his recruitment.
With the mailbox now stuffed with 50 letters by the middle of the week, it's safe to say the four-star athlete understood incorrectly.

SAN ANTONIO - - Six teams are still in the running for four-star running back Derrick Green (Richmond, Va./Hermitage) but his face is overcome by a certain glow when he speaks about one in particular.
That school is Michigan.
“That program, period,” Green said. “Just the history behind the program and their traditions. [Running backs] Coach [Fred] Jackson, Coach [Brady] Hoke is a great coach. He’s the best coach I’ve met so far.”

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Laquon Treadwell (Crete, Ill./Crete-Monee) seems to like the southeastern culture, and that could be a good thing for Ole Miss.
The ESPN 150 wide receiver says the Rebels are in his top three with Oklahoma and Oklahoma State. He will take his official to Stillwater on Jan. 11.
“My recruitment got pretty wild there for a couple of weeks, but once I starting talking with the schools I was most interested in and put together a top three everything settled down,” Treadwell said. “I don’t expect any schools to challenge those three, but we’ll see.”

Most high school football players dream only of playing in the NFL, but junior offensive lineman Reilly Gibbons (St. Petersburg, Fla./St. Petersburg Catholic) wants to take that one step further. Gibbons doesn't want to just play in the NFL, but hopes to one day become an attorney for the league.
"[Reilly] wants to be an attorney like his mom, and there are a few local players that have been attorneys in the NFL that have been successful," Gibbons' dad, Shannon, said. "We have a few friends that have done that as well, and since sixth or seventh grade Reilly has wanted to help people, especially athletes."
The 6-foot-6, 272-pound lineman is well on his way to the first step of the process by gaining scholarship offers to top college programs across the country. Illinois, Miami (Fla), Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and West Virginia make up some of the schools that have already extended offers to Gibbons.

Sensing an opportunity to land one of the top tailbacks in the nation, coaches from some of the most tradition-laden schools were scheduled to visit Derrick Green on Tuesday.
Miami running backs coach and recruiting coordinator Terry Richardson was in to see Green, the four-star tailback from Richmond (Va.) Hermitage. The Canes are in the running after being a non-factor for most of his recruitment. Green shifted his list of finalists earlier this month when he dropped Virginia Tech and added Miami.
Miami's ability to jump in is largely due to the many changes among Green's finalists. The ESPN 150 prospect has seen coaching changes at two of the schools he was strongly considering: Auburn and Tennessee.

Early playing time, fantastic facilities and long-standing traditions are nice. Paul Harris prefers relationships.
The receiver from Upper Marlboro (Md.) Douglass has cited his relationships with Tennessee's coaches as the primary reason he committed to the Vols in July. Harris is all too aware that those relationships may soon be in jeopardy.
With a 4-6 record (0-6 in the SEC), Tennessee's football program could soon face a transition if third-year head coach Derek Dooley is not retained. From afar, Harris has seen the issues facing the program. They prompted him to ask some tough questions of his lead recruiter, receivers coach Darin Hinshaw.

Derrick Green's recruitment was shaken up this weekend.
Talking to ESPN for the first time in more than two weeks, the ESPN 150 tailback from Richmond (Va.) Hermitage said he's no longer considering Virginia Tech and is now interested in Miami.
That's a big change, as Green had long said the Hokies were among his finalists, which now are Miami, Michigan, Tennessee, Ole Miss, Oregon and Auburn, where he took an official visit this weekend.

CINCINNATI -- Baltimore Gilman sends several players to BCS colleges every year, and Melvin Keihn is already one of Gilman’s top 2014 players and guaranteed to have more than a dozen offers, likely by the end of this year.
A host of ACC programs including Maryland, Miami, North Carolina and Virginia have offered, and West Virginia has also extended a scholarship to the 6-foot-3, 225-pound outside linebacker.
One program yet to offer but looking at Keihn is Michigan, and there is a very good chance Keihn makes it to Ann Arbor this season with 2013 Wolverines commit Henry Poggi.
