Alex Bars has another flurry of offers
By Dave Hooker
Alex Bars' list of scholarship offers is growing at an ever-accelerating pace.
Arkansas, LSU, Notre Dame and California are the latest schools to offer the offensive tackle from Nashville (Tenn.) Montgomery Bell, according to an email from Bars' father, Joe Bars.
The younger Bars now has over 20 scholarship offers. Michigan and Penn State have strong ties to Bars, as he has older brothers that play at each school. Bars spent Thanksgiving with the Wolverines' coaching staff.
However, Bars has maintained that he's open to all schools. He has said he's not determined to follow his brothers nor is he determined to play football at a northern school like them.
The 6-foot-6, 280-pound ESPN Watch List prospect is on his way to being one of the most coveted offensive tackles in the nation and possibly the top prospect in Tennessee for the 2014 class.
Bars picked up scholarship offers from Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Nebraska, Stanford, Virginia, Penn State and Florida State earlier this year.
