2014 CB Ed Paris talks BU-TTU experience
By Damon Sayles
If there’s one thing about ESPN Watch List cornerback Ed Paris (Arlington, Texas/Mansfield Timberview), he’s super honest when it comes to everything about the recruiting process.
Emphasis on “everything.”
Paris was one of several recruits in attendance at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, to see Baylor score a 52-45 overtime win against Texas Tech. He was one of 44,168 to take in the experience, and he said he enjoyed the game and everything revolving around it. Paris gave the visit a 10 overall.
“It was a good game, a real good game,” Paris said. “It started off with Tech looking like they were going to dominate, but in the second half, Baylor came out ready to play.
“It’s fun to get to see new atmospheres, but I’m not going to lie to you, it was cool to see some of the college girls. Most people like to talk about the academics, and I’m all for that, but I want to have some fun wherever I go, too.”
A 6-foot-2, 195-pound cornerback, Paris has an offer from Baylor but does not have a Texas Tech offer. He is being recruited to Baylor by running backs coach Jeff Lebby.
Paris has more than 20 offers to choose from, including LSU, Notre Dame, Michigan, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Texas and Texas A&M. He said he is looking to make an unofficial visit to LSU soon but added that he’s still open in his recruiting process.
“For me,” he said, “everything is pretty much the same.”
