The Opening: LSU storylines

BATON ROUGE, La. -- With The Opening set for next week at Beaverton, Ore., here are some storylines to follow for LSU fans.

1. Fastest man again? A year ago, LSU commit Jeryl Brazil, a Louisiana product, was the fastest player at the opening, running a 4.32 40-yard dash. This year, Louisiana again has a contender in the aptly nicknamed Devante "Speedy" Noil (New Orleans/Karr). And if it's not Noil, it may well be another LSU target, cornerback Tony Brown (Beaumont, Texas/Ozen).

No. 2 CB Sheffield Talks Recruiting
Fort Bend Marshall cornerback Kendall Sheffield landed at No. 12 in the new ESPN 300. That's good enough to earn him the top spot in Texas.
