ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- It has only been a few weeks since Chad Thomas (Miami/Booker T. Washington) and his teammates were crowned state champions, but he's already added a major offer.
Big East and Sugar Bowl champions Louisville have entered the picture, but the ESPN Watch List defensive end still has the familiar three on top.
"Since the offseason, I really have only gotten one from Louisville," he said. "I just have my top three right now with Miami, LSU and Florida State.
"Miami is the home team and I like how Al Golden is pushing the program to be better. Florida State is a loaded program. Then you've got LSU. I feel like I play like Sam Montgomery, we do the same things."
Florida State, a team that has been on Thomas for perhaps the longest, has ace recruiter James Coley handling his recruitment. Coley's personality, demeanor and work ethic have made an impression.
"Coach Coley, he's cool," said Thomas. "He acts like us. Around all the players, he's cool. But when you're on the field, it is time to work."
It doesn't hurt the Seminoles that they have made a major push at Booker T. Washington, either. FSU is heavily recruiting 2013 players Matthew Thomas and Denver Kirkland along with 2014 prospects Treon Harris and Nigel Patten.
Thomas believes that to be a good thing.
"I like how they are rushing our school because we have a lot of players there that fit the category to play at their school," he said.
