LSU added another defensive tackle prospect Wednesday to its 2013 class as the Tigers picked up a verbal from Maquedius Bain (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./University School). They already held a commitment from ESPN 150 DT Greg Gilmore (Hope Mills, N.C./South View), a big man who combines good ability with an active playing style to be productive inside, as well as Christian LaCouture (Lincoln, Neb./Southwest) and Tevin Lawson (Denham Springs, La./Denham Springs), who is also a talented guard prospect but looks to initially be headed to the defensive trenches in Baton Rouge.
In Bain they add a prospect with some promising upside. He possesses good raw tools to develop as the big man is strong and can move well for his size. He shows flashes of being a disruptive defender but needs to strive for more consistency in all areas, including pad level and hand usage.
