LSU is once again out on the road this weekend, but there's still going to be plenty of football worth following in Louisiana while the Tigers travel to face No. 10 Florida. As usual, many of LSU's top commits and targets will be on display Friday night in several key area high school games.
East Feliciana at Parkview Baptist: East Feliciana's non-district schedule was no picnic for top recruit Kendell Beckwith, and the district opener doesn't look likely to be much easier. Parkview is undefeated and ranked fourth in Class 3A, making the Eagles state titles contenders -- not surprisingly. Beckwith is a bit of a one-man show, so it will be interesting to see how he fares against a more complete team in Parkview.
Neville at Bastrop: District play begins with a Class 4A road rivalry game for undefeated Neville. Bastrop isn't looked at on the same level as the Tigers or nearby West Monroe this season, but the Rams are off to a strong 3-1 start. This will likely be the best opposition that LSU commit John Diarse has faced to this point in the season.
Denham Springs at Scotlandville: Perfect timing for Scotlandville to get word that Brian Bridgewater, the two-sport star formerly of Episcopal, is now eligible to play after transferring. District rival Denham Springs is coming in after a tough non-district slate. LSU commit and defensive tackle Tevin Lawson has recently begun playing on the offensive line again in addition to his defensive duties, which should help the Yellow Jackets open holes for running back and Arkansas commit Kaleb Blanchard. How much will Bridgewater be able to impact from the tight end spot?
