BATON ROUGE, La. -- LSU has a couple of players on its wish list visiting this weekend and the Tigers coaching staff will have plenty of help in trying to get them to commit.

While ESPN 150 defensive back Tahaan Goodman (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif. HS) and fast-rising wide receiver Kevin Spears (New Orleans/Holy Cross HS) will get the attention this weekend, LSU will also have official visits from a slew of its already committed prospects.

LSU commits Kendell Beckwith, Jeryl Brazil, Rickey Jefferson, Tre'Davious White and Desean Smith are scheduled to come to be in Baton Rouge as well, and they might be joined by a few others. Surely part of their roles will be to convince Goodman and Spears, who both already sport LSU offers, to join them in Baton Rouge.

Goodman, a likely safety, can spend time with White and Jefferson, two projected future cornerbacks in LSU's secondary. Brazil also projects to play defensive back, but there have been recent rumblings that Brazil could be asked to play on offense for the Tigers, possibly at running back, where LSU lost a couple of juniors to the NFL draft.

Goodman's seen as a player who might likely pair with his friend and fellow Western prospect Priest Willis at their future college. Willis visited LSU in December and gave Goodman rave reviews.

As for Spears, he went from an unknown with a basketball background to a fast-rising prospect after a 60-catch, 1,000-yard senior season for Holy Cross.

He visited Louisiana Tech last weekend and committed, then received an LSU offer the next day.

The under-the-radar prospect seems like he might be a fit on both sides of the line of scrimmage. LSU has been looking for a big receiver. At 6-foot-3 with an impressive vertical leap, Spears seems to fit that bill. And Spears, who is not scheduled to visit any other major programs, might have an offer from LSU that's too good to pass up.
