Our weekly look at the top LSU performers this season up to this point.
1. DE Sam Montgomery
"Sonic Sam" has been at his best against better competition. Both of his sacks and five of his six TFLs have come against Washington and Auburn.
2. FS Eric Reid
Reid's value becomes more apparent in time as his steady contributions accumulate. He leads the team in passes defended and passes broken up and is third on the team in tackles.
3. RB Spencer Ware
Goes from forgotten to top four after piling up 134 total yards rushing and receiving. If Ware's healthy -- and he looked healthy against Auburn -- he's LSU's best all-around running back.
4. RB Kenny Hilliard
One can't forget the team touchdown leader (6) because of one off night against Auburn. With the offensive line struggling in pass protection (allowing seven sacks), the running backs get extra love for their role in the rushing games.
5. DT Anthony Johnson
He has 4.5 tackles for loss and a sack and has routinely crumbled offensive lines from the middle.
6. LB Kevin Minter
Our top choice last week had a quiet week against Auburn but still leads the Tigers in tackles (25) and is tied with Reid for the lead on passes broken up (3).
7. P Brad Wing
He is booting more touchbacks than a season ago, but his 45.4-yard average and seven punts in 16 attempts pinning teams inside their 20 are still huge.
8. DT Bennie Logan
Never a big stat guy, Logan has been solid in the middle nonetheless, with two tackles for loss and consistent penetration.
9. CB Tharold Simon
Had his first interception of the season on the last play of the Auburn win. Teams are still generally avoiding him to test true freshman Jalen Mills.
10. LB Lamin Barrow
Second on the team in tackles (24), Barrow is athletic enough to stay in the game in nickel and dime packages.
