Liggins chooses LSU

January, 30, 2012
BATON ROUGE, La. -- Almost two weeks to the day after LSU lost out on Gunner Kiel to Notre Dame, the Tigers added a new signal-caller to their 2012 recruiting class.

Lafayette High School (Oxford, Miss.) quarterback and ESPNU 150 prospect Jeremy Liggins became commit No. 22 for the Tigers’ 2012 class, opting for LSU over Ole Miss and Mississippi State.

Liggins, considered the No. 12 quarterback in this year’s class, chose LSU out of a lineup of varying helmets on display at an Oxford restaurant, where he announced his decision.

“I just wanted Jeremy to do what Jeremy feels good about," said Anthony Hart, athletic director at Lafayette High School. "And it was irrelevant to me where he went to school. But he seems very confident with his decision and very settled with his decision. And that makes me feel good about it."
