What's that? More pressure to place on LSU quarterback Zach Mettenberger? Of course.

Mettenbergers' ability to deliver a better passing game for LSU is Travis Haney's chief concern for the Tigers entering 2012. Haney breaks down key issues for several SEC contenders heading into the new season here, and Mettenberger features prominently.

Very rarely has such an inexperienced player meant so much to the fortunes of one team. It reminds me of Wisconsin bringing in quarterback Russell Wilson on a one-year transfer last year. Wilson lived up to an entire offseason of hype, and his performance helped the Badgers to a Big Ten championship and a Rose Bowl appearance. LSU fans would love to see a similar performance from Mettenberger.

Fittingly, Mettenberger will go in front of the horde of SEC reporters Wednesday at SEC media days. The real pressure is starting to build.
