Tigers, Gamecocks split doubleheader

May, 18, 2012
After an all-day baseball marathon in Columbia, S.C., we're no closer to deciding anything.

No. 9 LSU (41-14, 18-11) surrendered a 3-0 lead in the second game of Friday's doubleheader to fall, 5-4, to No. 2 South Carolina, 5-4. The result allowed the Gamecocks (38-15, 17-11) to pull even on the day after LSU won the day's first game, 5-2.

The split, coupled with a loss by No. 5 Kentucky on Thursday night, puts the overall conference championship up in the air heading into the final day of the regular season.
