BATON ROUGE -- An enormous road weekend saw the LSU baseball team climb into the top 10 of the USA Today/ESPN top 25 baseball rankings on Monday.

The Tigers (25-7, 8-4) made a big jump from No. 12 up to No. 7 after taking a three-game series from former No. 1 Florida. LSU clawed back from a 7-2 deficit Saturday against the Gators to earn an 8-7 win and a series victory. Florida fell three spots to No. 4.

The wins gave the Tigers a one-game lead over Arkansas in the crowded SEC West standings, and pushed them to second overall in the conference behind new No. 2 Kentucky.

Even at No. 7 in the nation, LSU is still the third-highest SEC squad in this week's rankings, behind the Wildcats and Gators. The full rankings feature a staggering six SEC teams -- Arkansas and South Carolina are tied for No. 9. Ole Miss fell four spots from No. 15 to No. 19 after a series loss to Kentucky.
