BRADENTON, Fla. -- Some of the top prospects at the skill positions took to the fields at the IMG Academy over the weekend to participate in the 7-on-7 Southeast Regional. Here are 10 players who really stood out based upon their performances alone.

10. Kyle Gibson
Seffner (Fla.) Armwood | ATH | 6-foot, 180 pounds

The safety wasn't flashy over the course of the two-day event, but Gibson consistently seemed to be in good position to knock down pass attempts. The four-star prospect continually took the right angles on deep balls and came up aggressively on underneath routes. On day one, Gibson helped Team Tampa beat the South Florida Express Elite, which consisted of big-time wide receivers Ermon Lane and Florida State commit JoJo Robinson. Vanderbilt and Louisville are two schools standing out for Gibson. He has no timeframe on making a decision.

ZACHARY, La. -- It wasn't like folks in the recruiting world had no idea who Joshua Johnson, a class of 2014 quarterback from New Orleans Warren Easton, was when he walked into the NUC Five Star Challenge at Zachary High in the Baton Rouge suburbs last weekend.

After all, the Five Star was invitation-only. He had done well enough with his performance and in previous camps to get invited down. Heading into last Sunday, it was the only invitation he had received that mattered.

"Nobody's calling yet," he said when asked if he's getting recruiting interest. "But on my NSCA (a recruiting service) page, I've had two colleges look at my profile so far. I've emailed a ton of coaches, but so far, I haven't heard back."

ZACHARY, La. -- Sunday wasn't the best day for Xavier Lewis (LaPlace, La./East St. John).

The 2015 cornerback didn't perform up to his standards at the NUC 5-star Challenge in Baton Rouge, often getting beat by lesser-known receivers.

ATHENS, Ga. -- For most high school players, the end of practice means they get a break from the incessant nagging and ceaseless instruction of their coaches. They go home, eat dinner, study and enjoy the respite until the whistles start blowing next time. For ESPN Watch List safety Quincy Wilson (Fort Lauderdale, Fla./University School), that is not the case.

Wilson’s father is the defensive coordinator and the defensive backs coach at the University School, so Wilson jokes that he gets no respite.

“Oh no, there’s no break, there’s no break,” Wilson said. “Monday through Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Yeah, I get it at practice, before practice, after practice, in the car, at the dinner table ...”

The talented junior laughed about the nonstop instruction but he also credited his father with making him the player he is today -- one of the most coveted safeties in Florida.

Sophomore athlete Jaylin Hayward is undecided, which is normal for a prospect with two years of high school left. He has plenty of time to choose a school from among his impressive offer list, which includes programs like Alabama, LSU, Florida State, Florida, Miami and Tennessee. But before he picks a college, he has to pick a position -- which could be trickier.

Despite an academic issue that caused him to part ways with Alabama, Josh McNeil is still a wanted man.

McNeil told ESPN that he met with coaches from Florida, LSU, Clemson, Miami and Auburn shortly after the Under Armour All-America Game on Friday. Obviously there's still interest in the ESPN 150 tight end from Durham (N.C.) Milford Academy.

McNeil was committed to the Crimson Tide since July but the two parties split because of a concern over a ninth-grade academic issue arose. McNeil has expressed strong interest in LSU but will need to clear up any academic concerns before he can commit. McNeil feels confident that will happen.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- 2014 defensive end Keyon Brown (Wauchula, Fla./Hardee) had a blistering pace to his process going when four offers flew in from Louisiana-Lafayette, Miami, Pittsburgh and UCF.

Things now have been a little more manageable. Brown says he's still talking to teams the same, but it is at a slower rate.

"Right now, I am not really decided or anything like that," he said. "I probably won't decide until next year where I am going. The recruiting process started off crazy. It has kind of slowed down, it is steady, but it isn't as crazy as it was."

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- It has only been a few weeks since Chad Thomas (Miami/Booker T. Washington) and his teammates were crowned state champions, but he's already added a major offer.

Big East and Sugar Bowl champions Louisville have entered the picture, but the ESPN Watch List defensive end still has the familiar three on top.

"Since the offseason, I really have only gotten one from Louisville," he said. "I just have my top three right now with Miami, LSU and Florida State.
