ATHENS, Ga. -- With the first day of spring practice just a week away, it was a reasonably quiet week for Georgia’s football program.

The biggest news of the week came Tuesday when defensive lineman Toby Johnson -- ESPN’s No. 4 prospect on its Junior College 100 -- signed with the Bulldogs to round out a 33-man signing class.

The Georgia Bulldogs coaching staff has been busy working on the Class of 2014, and even the Class of 2015. UGA hosted a junior day Saturday and offered several top sophomores in the last week. On Tuesday morning, DawgNation joined ESPN’s Athens, Ga., affiliate 960 The Ref to talk about recruiting and more. Some of the topics discussed were:
  • How did the Bulldogs’ do on their junior day?
  • Were there any silent commitments?
  • Who are the new prospects that Georgia offered?
  • Does Georgia have a chance with the top out-of-state players?

Listen to the show here.
ESPN Watch List offensive guard Jerald Foster (Lincoln, Neb./Southeast) was slightly surprised on Monday when he was told that coaches from the University of Georgia wanted to talk to him. He had already heard from Alabama earlier that day and now the Bulldogs were looking to speak with him. Foster is no longer surprised when a new school wants to talk to him as he already has offers from Nebraska, Missouri, Iowa, Ohio and Wake Forest.

“[Georgia] said they liked my film and they gave me an offer,” Foster said. “It was a great feeling.”

Foster plans some research into the Bulldogs program.
