Just a few weeks after naming Florida his leader, five-star defensive tackle Lamont Gaillard (Fayetville, N.C./Pine Forest) decided to eliminate Florida.

ESPN 150 DT Lamont Gaillard vaulted the Gators to the top of his list after this trip to Gainesville, but a few weeks later he says he has eliminated Florida.
The 6-foot-4, 300-pound athlete confirmed his decision via text message. He said Florida decided not to offer a scholarship to his teammate, defensive end Harold Landry, which played a role in his decision.

"Yes sir, Florida is out," he wrote. "They're mad because me and my teammate got offered by Miami."

With other top ranked defensive ends Da'Shawn Hand, Lorenzo Carter, Denzel Ware and Justin Thornton still on Florida's board, the Gators decided not to extend an offer to Landry even if it meant losing Gaillard.

The No. 2-ranked defensive tackle in the country said he now has a new leader.

"As of now, Georgia is my new leader."

Gaillard also holds offers from Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, South Carolina and many others. He has no timeframe for his decision.
