Will mom let Watch List WR leave Florida?
By Kipp Adams
ORLANDO, Fla. -- After winning the MVP at wide receiver during Saturday's Orlando NFTC, ESPN Watch List prospect Artavis Scott (Tarpon Springs, Fla./East Lake) had a huge smile on his face. But then again, the 5-foot-11, 175-pound wideout was smiling all day long, and for good reason.
Few recruits in the Southeast can claim the offer list of Scott, who recently visited Clemson and Georgia.
“Both programs really stood out to me during my time on campus,” he said. “I was shocked at how nice Georgia was.”
Scott, whose most recent offer was from Oregon, said he felt Clemson, Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State are recruiting him the hardest now.
While he was steadfast in maintaining that he is open not only to any program but also to leaving the state to play wherever he feels most comfortable, he did predict someone would likely suggest that location become a factor at some point.
“She has not said anything now, but I am sure my mom will eventually tell me she wants me to stay close to home,” Scott said.
As far as a decision, Scott plans to take his official visits and make his announcement at the 2014 Army All-American Bowl.
