Georgia offers physical Watch List WR
By Radi Nabulsi
The Georgia coaching staff spent this past week sending out offers to some of the top players in the country. From running backs to defensive ends, the coaches dove into the Class of 2014 with vigor, just days after the ink was dry on the Class of 2013. Before hosting a junior day on Saturday, they sent out a new offer to one of the premier wideouts in Louisiana on Friday.
ESPN Watch List wide receiver Cameron Sims (Monreo, La./ Ouachita Parish) said that Georgia receivers coach Tony Ball called and offered him a scholarship. The 6-foot-4, 190-pound junior was pleased to receive the call.
“When he offered me I was excited because I heard that they rarely recruit Louisiana players,” Sims said. “And I saw the things that they did with A.J. Green.”
Sims’ highlight reel does bring to mind the former Georgia All-American and NFL Pro Bowl receiver, except for the part where Sims knocks a cornerback’s helmet clear off of his head.
“He was talking noise all game so I had to shut him up,” Sims said. “I guess you could say I like to hit because I play free safety, but I make more tackles than some linebackers.”
Sims also has offers from Alabama, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, TCU, Arkansas, Northwestern and Washington among others. He has no visits scheduled for the immediate future.
