RB Choice has a decision to make
By Radi Nabulsi
ESPN Watch List running back Adam Choice (Thomasville, Ga./Thomas County Central) is not exactly living up to his namesake. The 5-foot-9, 196-pound junior has offers from Georgia, Florida, Georgia Tech and Ole Miss. But he is also a talented baseball prospect and he just spent the weekend in Athens, Ga., at a baseball camp.
So does he have a life-changing choice to make in regards to his future sport?
No, he wants to do both.
Adam Choice would like to play baseball and football in college.
“I have thought about it and I would possibly like to play two sports and I figured this would be a good way to let them know that I am interested in doing both,” Choice said. “Today was a pitching camp. I did the fielding and hitting camp yesterday so I had a day off and I figured I'd take advantage of the opportunity. So I called Coach [Mike] Bobo and we got something worked out so I could come in and check out all the stuff. I liked everything -- it was all high-tech.”
A center fielder, Choice missed most of last season with a pulled hamstring. His freshman season he batted .413 with two home runs and double-digit stolen bases. Choice’s primary future won’t be on the baseball diamond but on the gridiron. He is looking for a school where he can run the ball.
“The visit with Georgia was great,” Choice said. “They do a good job with handling their recruits on visits. It was very nice. The facilities, the equipment and everything were top-of-the-line stuff.”
Choice hosted a few visitors himself last week
“I have heard from Clemson, South Carolina, Alabama and a lot of others,” Choice said. “Auburn and Florida State are sending me mail. Recently, I visited with coaches from Clemson and South Carolina. A coach from North Carolina came down to speak with me -- and a coach from UCF.”
