Brandon Kublanow knows best

By Radi Nabulsi

MARIETTA, Ga. -- According to offensive lineman Brandon Kublanow (Marietta, Ga./Walton), the best defensive lineman in the state of Georgia is not Robert Nkemdiche (Loganville, Ga./Grayson) or Carl Lawson (Alpharetta, Ga./Milton). Never mind that those two are ranked the No. 1 and No. 2 prospects in the entire nation. Kublanow is not having it. He says that Montravius Adams (Vienna, Ga./Dooly County) is the best defensive lineman in the nation.

What does Kublanow know that all the recruiting experts don’t? Well, he has faced all three on the field.

“Montravius is a beast,” Kublanow said. “He is definitely the best defensive lineman in the nation. He is like Carl and Robert in one. He has got Carl’s moves but Robert’s size.”

Kublanow is committed to Georgia to play center and Adams is Georgia’s top target on defense. The two have known each other for a while now.

“We have gotten really close and I respect him a lot and he respects me,” Kublanow said. “He was supposed to be up here today but he got sick. I am going to go down there next Friday and watch him play.”

Kublanow is trying to convince Adams to come to Georgia with him. The five-star defensive tackle recently visited Athens with his mother and came away with the Bulldogs high on his list. Despite the headaches he may one day give to Kublanow in practice the ESPN 300 center knows how vital his friend is in the Georgia recruiting class.

“I have talked to a couple defensive coaches and I know we need him bad,” Kublanow said. “I am just staying on him.”
