ATHENS, Ga. -- Mark Richt manufactured most of the drama for Georgia’s team scrimmage at Sanford Stadium on Wednesday, so the final score of the Bulldogs regulars’ 49-48 overtime win against the scout teamers simulating Buffalo is mostly deceptive.
The teams played one half and Richt spotted “Buffalo” a 35-0 lead before “Georgia” rallied back to send the game to overtime -- denying a two-point conversion attempt at the end to eke out a one-point victory.
“It was 35-0 at halftime. We were down and had a rousing halftime speech by me and it worked,” Richt cracked.
