Around the Hedges in 80 Days: A. Ogletree

Twenty-five days remain until Georgia kicks off its season opener against Buffalo on Sept. 1. In the days counting down to the opener, DawgNation will profile, with our “Around the Hedges in 80 Days” series, a Bulldogs player we expect to make an impact. We will review each player’s career thus far and project his long-term potential as we progress through our alphabetical list, from center David Andrews to receiver Rantavious Wooten.

25. Alec Ogletree

Fall forecast: Ogletree by now has established that he possesses game-changing talent when he’s on the field. However, we still don’t know when that will be this fall. Georgia has not yet addressed when Ogletree will be available to play this season since reports surfaced during spring practice that he might face a suspension for failing a drug test. When he joins the lineup, Ogletree will make Georgia’s defense significantly more dangerous, bringing the ability to play inside and outside and rack up tackles in bunches. He led the Bulldogs in tackles in each of the last five games last season.
