LB Tim Kimbrough commits to UGA

7/14/2012

ATHENS, Ga. -- ESPN 300 linebacker Tim Kimbrough became Georgia’s 21st commitment for its 2013 signing class -- and second of the day -- when he pledged to join the Bulldogs at Friday’s Dawg Night festivities.

“It was good. It was a lot of good competition. I committed tonight, too,” Kimbrough told DawgNation’s Radi Nabulsi after Friday’s workout.

ESPN rates Kimbrough (Indianapolis/Warren Central) as the No. 288 overall prospect for 2013, the No. 12 inside linebacker and the No. 4 prospect in Indiana.

The four-star linebacker picked Georgia over a lengthy list of offers from schools such as Arkansas, Florida, Oklahoma, Penn State, Michigan State, Nebraska and Wisconsin.

Kimbrough had visited Georgia before and used Friday’s visit as confirmation that Georgia was the right spot for him. He said he does not intend to visit another school at this point.

“The first visit I went on, it was just special to me and I liked everything about the school,” Kimbrough said. “And today just topped it off. I’ve seen what competition I’m going to be going against and I just love the school.”

Georgia coach Mark Richt and Todd Grantham were on hand to accept Kimbrough’s commitment, making him the fourth inside linebacker to join the 2013 class.

Kimbrough met fellow ILB commit Ryne Rankin (Orlando, Fla./East River) on Friday and made a prediction about his position group in the upcoming signing class.

“When we come, I feel like we’re going to be unstoppable,” he said.
