Running back Alvin Kamara of Norcross, Ga., continues his hot steak. Monday he learned he had a scholarship offer from Florida State.
“I have been talking with coach [D.J.] Eliot from FSU a lot,” Kamara said. “He recruits this area for them. We have been going back and forth. They offered me today after school. Now, I just need to get down there.”
While Kamara has yet to sit down with the Florida State and see the campus he’s still well aware of what the Seminoles bring to the table.
“They have great tradition,” Kamara said. “I know they have a good staff. Now I just have to see it all for myself. I want to really get down there and check them out. I definitely plan on going down there to visit. Then again, I want to see every school but I know that’s not realistic.”
One school Kamara will check out again this coming Friday is Georgia Tech. The Yellow Jackets have yet to offer him a scholarship, though.
“Georgia Tech’s spring game is on Friday and I am really thinking about going,” Kamara said. “It should work out very well. They have not offered yet. I know they like me as an A-back in their offense.”
Kamara, who is 5-foot-10 and 190 pounds, will attend the Nike Football Training Camp on Saturday in Atlanta. Georgia, Alabama, Syracuse (first offer), USC, Florida, Maryland, Clemson, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Mississippi State and others have offered.
