J.P. Vonashek (Kingsland, Ga./Camden Co.) came into Athens with two offers and left with three, as head coach Mark Richt extended the offensive lineman an opportunity Monday afternoon to play for the Bulldogs.

“Coach Richt had us up in his office and he sat down with me and my older brother and my brother-in-law,” Vonashek said. “He asked me, ‘Did Coach [Tony] Ball ask you if you want to be a Bulldog?’ I said no. Then he said, ‘Well, I am offering you a scholarship to come play at the University of Georgia.’ ”

For Vonashek, whose teammate J.J. Green committed to the Bulldogs just hours before, the offer was well received.
