Offensive tackle Shamire Devine (East Point, Ga./Tri-Cities) has been in Athens several times since earning an offer from the Georgia Bulldogs after attending camp last June in Athens. The 6-foot-6, 330-pound junior, who has also been offered by Florida, Georgia Tech, Mississippi State, Tennessee and Vanderbilt, was on campus at Georgia again last weekend for the first Junior Day of the year.
“This Junior Day involved Georgia giving information about their program, and what their education can provide,” Devine said. “I sat down and talked with coach Mark Richt about the campus and what would happen if I went to Georgia. He told me about how it would help me in the long run if I became a Bulldog.”
While he likes the coaches at Georgia, Devine admits that the actual college town is not a factor in his decision.
