Georgia defensive coordinator Todd Grantham spoke with reporters after Sunday morning's practice -- the Bulldogs' fourth workout of preseason practice. Here is some of what Grantham had to say:
On whether Georgia got an under-the-radar signee in James DeLoach: I think that’s a good example of recruiting to be honest with you because all you guys, when a guy commits, y’all kind of forget about him and then y’all go talk to the guys that haven’t made a decision yet on where he’s going to go and that becomes the news. There’s a guy that loved Georgia, committed to Georgia and knew what he wanted to do, so he kind of gets forgotten and not talked about. So you can blame yourself on that one.
On freshmen Jordan Jenkins, DeLoach and Josh Dawson fitting what he wants at OLB: Those guys are physically what you want in the outside backer position and there’s a couple of schools of thought. Usually those kind of guys are the most athletic guys on their high school team and sometimes when you get them, you have to let them grow into a position of where they’re going to be. Then other times, because of their body structure and their length, they end up staying there. And these guys are going to stay there and I think these guys will really help us.
