Defensive line signee John Atkins still intends to enroll at Georgia, but his plan will be delayed by a few months.

After falling short of a qualifying standardized test score by only a few points, Atkins (Thomson, Ga./Thomson) has finalized plans to enroll in prep school this fall.

“It’s going to be Hargrave,” Atkins said Friday evening, referring to Hargrave Military Academy in Chatham, Va.

Atkins said he intends to complete the necessary academic obligations at Hargrave by December and enroll at Georgia in January.

ESPN gave Atkins a four-star grade and rated the versatile lineman as the No. 119 overall prospect on the ESPN 150 and the No. 11 defensive tackle.
