Several talented prospects were in attendance last weekend at Sanford Stadium to see the Georgia Bulldogs clinch the SEC East title, including an emerging 2013 defensive line prospect who is on the radar of several programs in the Southeast.
Jay Woods (Jackson, Ga./Jackson), a 6-foot-2, 270-pound defensive tackle, was in Athens back in July for Dawg Night, and he has taken trips to Southern Miss, Auburn, Vanderbilt and Troy. Woods claims an offer from Mississippi State as well.
The return trip to Georgia was a good one for Woods, who has been selected to play in the Rising Seniors Junior Bowl game Dec. 30.
"It went very well," Woods said. "I like the environment, and the coaching staff treats you really well."
Woods will take in another Bulldogs game tomorrow, this time as an unofficial visitor to Georgia Tech. So far the Georgia staff has been impressed with the junior lineman, and they let Woods know they would like to hear back from him soon.
"They told me I had the size and the skill to be an awesome football player at the next level," Woods said. "They wanted me to get in touch with them later on this week."
