ESPN 300 ATH Baker to take UGA official

While the University of Georgia is hoping to hang on to ESPN 150 cornerback Shaq Wiggins (Tyrone, Ga./Sandy Creek), programs like South Carolina and Texas A&M continue to make a push for him to switch. If the Bulldogs have to look elsewhere, another highly regarded option emerged on Sunday.

Secondary coach Scott Lakatos has recruited ESPN 300 athlete Adrian Baker (Hollywood, Fla./Chaminade-Madonna College Prep) since the spring, but the 6-foot-1, 175-pound prospect committed to Florida State in July. Recently the contact has been renewed.

Coach Lakatos has been in touch with me and today they invited me to come take an official,” Baker said. “Depending on what happens at the cornerback spot I could get an offer. He said they are losing a lot in the secondary in the draft this year so I would have a chance to come in and compete for early playing time. I will definitely be taking an official there in January."
Peach State: Top Tier Recruiting Ground?
California, Florida and Texas are largely considered the "Big Three" in college football recruiting. But national recruiting analyst Gerry Hamilton joins ESPN's Phil Murphy to explain why Georgia deserves to be in the top tier and has numbers to prove it.
