ATHENS, Ga. -- Each week during college football season, DawgNation will follow Georgia’s players as they compete for the sport’s national awards.

Seven Bulldogs made preseason watch lists for various college football awards. Here is a list featuring each player, the awards they are in the running for and how they performed in their Week 4 win against Vanderbilt:

NG John Jenkins, Sr. (Bednarik, Nagurski, Outland, Lombardi):
Jenkins finished with two tackles and two quarterback pressures in the Bulldogs’ blowout win over the Commodores. He is tied for sixth on the team with 14 tackles.

DE Abry Jones, Sr. (Hendricks):
Although Jones left in the third quarter of the Vanderbilt game with an ankle sprain, he matched his season high with four tackles before the injury. Jones is tied for eighth on the team with 13 tackles and is fourth with five quarterback pressures.

LB Jarvis Jones, Jr. (Bednarik, Nagurski, Lott IMPACT, Butkus, Lombardi, Camp):
Another game, another star turn for Jones, who registered seven tackles, one fourth-down sack and three tackles for a loss against the Commodores after missing the previous weeks’ game with an injury. Jones leads the team with 4.5 sacks, 7.5 tackles for loss and 13 quarterback pressures in three games.

WR Tavarres King, Sr. (Biletnikoff):
King had four catches for 58 yards and a 22-yard touchdown catch -- all in the first half -- against Vandy. He is second on the team with 269 receiving yards on 14 catches and is tied for the team lead with three touchdown catches.

QB Aaron Murray, Jr. (Maxwell, Manning, O’Brien, Camp):
Murray delivered another masterful performance against Vandy, completing his first 12 pass attempts before finishing 18-for-24 for 250 yards and two touchdowns, plus a 1-yard touchdown plunge. Through four games, Murray is 69-for-104 for 1,092 yards, 10 touchdowns and two interceptions.

CB Branden Smith, Sr. (Hornung):
Although he continues to play only on defense, Smith made four tackles against Vanderbilt. He has 11 tackles and a team-best five pass breakups.

DE/LB Cornelius Washington, Sr. (Butkus):
Returning from a hamstring injury that slowed him the previous week against Florida Atlantic, Washington did not register a tackle against Vanderbilt, although he started and contributed to the Bulldogs’ pass pressure. He has nine tackles and is tied for second on the team with three tackles for loss and six quarterback pressures.
