LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- ESPN 150 athlete Tarean Folston (Cocoa, Fla./Cocoa) has committed to Notre Dame. The 5-foot-9, 192-pound chose Notre Dame over Florida State and Oregon.
Folston, the nation’s No. 9 athlete, announced his decision today after Under Armour All-America Game practice at Disney’s ESPN Wide World of Sports. The four-star prospect said the Fighting Irish fan base was a big reason he chose Notre Dame.
“I went on a visit there and when I went there I just felt like I could do this for four years,” Folston said. “The coaches were great, the players were great. There was a lot of energy around there, and there is a lot of people wanting to get the same goal to get to the BCS championship. They are on their way now. We are going to pull this thing out.”

It was a special Saturday for ESPN 150 athlete Tarean Folston (Cocoa, Fla./Cocoa) as the 5-foot-10, 190-pound senior led Cocoa to a 25-7 victory over Delray Beach (Fla.) American Heritage on ESPN.
Folston rushed for 131 yards on 15 carries and scored twice in the second quarter, easily outperforming fellow ESPN 150 prospect Greg Bryant (24 carries, 111 yards). Folston's first score, a 21-yard touchdown reception gave Cocoa a 10-0 lead and set the table for things to come.
"When I caught that pass it was like I was floating on air," Folston said. "Catching a touchdown in front of our fans on ESPN, it can't get better than that."

Defensive back Artie Burns (Miami/Northwestern) was part of a large contingent of Northwestern players at the June session of Jimbo Fisher’s Football Camp. The ESPN 150 prospect worked exclusively with Florida State defensive coordinator Mark Stoops.
Burns committed to Alabama in January, but backed out of his commitment during the spring to check out other programs including Florida State.
“I have always liked FSU and I like the coaches here,” Burns said. “It’s a nice place, nice campus and a college town. It’s a good place to spend four years.”
