ORLANDO, Fla. -- ESPN 150 safety Marcell Harris (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips) announced on Friday he has moved his college decision to Nov. 29. The announcement will be on ESPNU's "Recruiting Nation," which airs at 5 p.m. ET.
The four-star athlete will chose between Florida, Florida State, Texas and Oklahoma. Harris said he wanted to wait until after Thanksgiving to make his decision.
“That’s why I was waiting until after Thanksgiving," Harris said. "So I could sit down, enjoy Thanksgiving and talk about some other things with my coaches, because I didn’t get to talk to my coaches before all of this and everything else. So it will be a great time to sit down with everybody.”

ESPN 150 safety Marcell Harris (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips) has finalized his plans to make a college decision. The 6-foot-1, 207-pound four-star prospect will make his verbal commitment on ESPNU's "Recruiting Nation" on Nov. 29 between 5-6 p.m. ET.
Harris, the No. 7-ranked safety in the country, will choose between Florida, Florida State, Oklahoma and Texas. The Under Armour All-American has officially visited all four of his finalists.

The 6-foot-1, 207-pound safety will chose between Florida, Florida State, Oklahoma and Texas. Harris hyperexented his knee in Dr. Phillips game last Thursday. The injury isn't severe and will only keep him out a few weeks, but Harris said it was enough for him to rethink his recruiting strategy.
"I took four official visits to Texas, Oklahoma, Florida State and Florida," Harris said. "I don't think there will be a fifth one with everything that's going on. My recruiting has been going pretty good. I've been talking with my coaches almost everyday. I think I'll have my decision by Nov. 16."

ESPN 150 safety Marcell Harris (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips) has narrowed down his list of top schools down to six. The 6-foot-1, 207-pound Under Armour All-American announced his decision on RecruitingNation's weekly podcast Verbal Commitment on Friday.
Harris, the No. 7-ranked safety in the country, talked about each of his final schools which are in no specific order.
Oklahoma: "The coaches, Bob Stoops and Mike Stoops, those are some great coaches. They have built a great program and they have been consistently delivering guys to the NFL. It's a great staff and you can never take them lightly."

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- As Brice Ramsey (Kingsland, Ga./Camden County) heated up, so too did the Southeast squad at Champion Gridiron Kings.
Although the Georgia-bound quarterback struggled initially in pool play Saturday, his steady improvement was capped off by a seven-touchdown performance and a 47-19 victory over the Midwest team in the championship game.
Ramsey, named the offensive MVP for the tournament, and the quarterback of a veer offense at Camden County, has really settled in at the end of the 7-on-7 circuit.

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. -- Heading into his senior season, safety Marcell Harris (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips) is still trying to figure out which programs to focus on. The 6-foot-1, 209-pound member of the ESPN 150 is hoping to get his officials set up during the season and says his plan is to take visits until he finds the right program. While he doesn't have a top group, a couple of programs have caught the defensive back's eye this summer.
The Texas Longhorns have been able to get Harris on campus, and it looks like they will also get a chance to show him what game day is like in Austin.
“Texas is one of my top schools,” Harris said. “I have been up there a couple times and I like Coach [Duane] Akina and them. It is an awesome program with a winning tradition. I want to get up there for a game on an official visit.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – ESPN 150 defensive back Marcell Harris (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips) decided to make a last-minute trip to Florida State on Thursday for the afternoon session of the Jimbo Fisher Camp.
The 6-foot-1, 209-pound senior took a few minutes to work out and catch up with FSU defensive coordinator Mark Stoops.
“Yeah I just did two drills and I was chilling after that, watching some of the other guys go,” Harris said. “I worked with coach Stoops a little bit and we talked in the football office a little bit before that. I was in there with a couple other guys and they wanted to try to all of us up here so they were excited about that.”

ESPN 150 safety Marcell Harris (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips) has heard it all before. He's heard the doubters say that he's too big to play safety and should prepare for a future as a linebacker.
Harris admitted it was a motivating tool for his efforts at The Opening this past week.
"I did go there with a little bit of a chip on my shoulder because I'm a safety and I want people to see that I can be a very good safety," Harris said. "I'm a bigger safety; I'm unique for the position but I've worked hard to succeed at this position.

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Under Armour All-American safety Marcell Harris (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips) has offers from the who's who of college football programs, but the talented 6-foot-1, 209-pound athlete decided to participate at Florida's camp on Tuesday afternoon.
Harris said getting familiar with Florida's coaching style, in particular defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson and head coach Will Muschamp, was a reason he decided to participate.
"It was cool being out there with them and seeing their style of how they coach," Harris said. "They were putting me in a position to play where I would be playing if I went there -- playing safety but also covering the slot."

WINTER GARDEN, Fla. -- Four-star safety prospect Marcell Harris (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips) has been a busy man over the last two weeks. Harris visited Florida for its junior day on Feb. 18 and then Florida State on Saturday for another junior day.
Though he has seen Florida State a few times before, Harris said it was still enjoyable.
"It was pretty cool," Harris said at the Nike Football SPARQ Combine in Winter Garden (Fla.). "I have seen most of their stuff. Their athletic program is building up with all of the players that they have coming in. That will be a great program."
