Clemson and Florida State dominated the ACC recruiting headlines over the weekend.

Both teams saw changes to their commitment lists, with the Tigers adding and the Seminoles subtracting.

Best prospect performances: Florida State commitment and ESPN 300 inside linebacker Kain Daub (Jacksonville, Fla./Sandalwood) lived up to his billing as a run stopper in his team's 30-14 win over Creekside. Daub racked up 14 tackles and contributed on offense as well, rushing five times for 48 yards. Up next for Daub and Sandalwood is a city magnet school, Paxon.

Florida State might have taken steps to knock out two birds with one stone on Saturday.

Speedy receiver Javonte Seabury (Orlando, Fla./Timber Creek) was offered and committed to the Seminoles and regional recruiter Rick Trickett.

"I am officially committed to Florida State," he said.

But his value could go on beyond his speed.

His brother, Jacques Patrick (Orlando, Fla./Timber Creek) is one of the top junior running backs in the country and already a four-star prospect. Seabury said he would love to play with Patrick in Tallahassee.

"That would be nice," Seabury said.

Seabury checks in at 5-foot-9 and 165 pounds. He is the Seminoles' 20th commitment for the 2014 class.

Tales From The Road: FSU Seminoles

Each week, Tales From The Road will provide news updates about where FSU coaches are visiting and what prospects are standing out.

This week's targets: Wide receivers coach Lawrence Dawsey is expected to make an extended stop in the Tampa area this week. Prospects like Artavis Scott (Tarpon Springs, Fla./East Lake), Ryan Davis (St. Petersburg, Fla./Northeast) and George Campbell (Tarpon Springs, Fla./East Lake) will likely get visits. Running back Jacques Patrick, a 2015 target, said Florida State has visited already.

Area of interest: The state of Florida. With spring games coming up, and the evaluation period hitting the home stretch, Florida State will try to make as much noise as possible in its home state. The Noles will see a bunch of prospects in person and continue to debate whether to offer a prospect or not. The stakes, of course, are higher in the home state because teams won't offer unless they mean it.

BRADENTON, Fla. -- The IMG 7-on-7 Southeast Regional had many of the prominent athletes in the state of Florida on display over the weekend. In Bradenton on the campus of the IMG Academy, 14 teams from all around the state went head-to-head showing off their skills in the passing game on offense and defense.

Underclassmen stand out

With all the big-named rising senior participants spread out over the field, it was truly the underclassmen who stood out. Jacques Patrick (Orlando, Fla./Timber Creek), a prospect with more than 30 offers, was as advertised. Ryan Davis (St. Petersburg, Fla./Northeast) showed great quickness and agility, making opponents miss in cramped quarters on several occasions. Shawn Burgess-Becker (Coconut Creek, Fla./Monarch) displayed elite athleticism and consistent hands. Deondre Francois (Orlando, Fla./Olympia) was among the top quarterbacks. And Nate Craig (Dade City, Fla./Pasco) and Byron Cowart (Seffner, Fla./Armwood) captured some attention, though Craig is a 2016 prospect.

Listed as an athlete, Patrick's skills at running back have helped him garner offers from Alabama, Arizona, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, LSU, Miami, Tennessee, UCF, USC and Vanderbilt. And Saturday he will be in Tallahassee to see the Seminoles and Gators line up against each other in a top-10 matchup.

Taking a look around Florida

More thoughts from the weekend and looking ahead:

Walters shows out: With Miami Central's highly-touted 2014 running back prospects Joseph Yearby and Dalvin Cooke expected to be the toughest test to date for Manatee's defensive line, it was the Hurricanes' 2014 prospect at running back that gave Central all it could handle. Trevon Walters showed that he is going to be a name to watch for the rest of this season. He had 107 yards rushing and 120 yards receiving on just 18 touches in Friday's 44-34 victory over Central. He scored on a shovel pass from 54 yards out and had a game-clinching 85-yard run late in the fourth quarter. "I feel like Trevon is going to be a major prospect and we're starting to expect games like he had (Friday)," said Manatee coach Joe Kinnan.

Central has a quarterback: After experimenting with junior Brandon Diaz, who has since moved to linebacker, and Yearby, who keyed a comeback victory over Booker T. Washington last Saturday, Miami Central seems to have found a guy who can hold down the spot for the rest of the season in 5-foot-11, 175-pound junior Keith Reed. He took over the reins from Yearby in the second quarter and threw for 321 yards and two touchdowns.
