Watch List RB enjoys UF, set to announce

By Derek Tyson

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- ESPN Watch List running back Sony Michel (Plantation, Fla./American Heritage) has a top five of Florida, Florida State, Miami (Fla.), Georgia and Notre Dame and is closing in on his decision. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound back visited Florida for its spring game on Saturday and said he enjoyed his trip to Gainesville.

"Everything was good today," Michel said. "You know, just coming back and being able to watch football again -- it's been a while."

While on his visit, Michel had a chance to talk one-one-one with Florida coach Will Muschamp.

"Coach Muschamp was, you know, just trying to tell me to get around the players all day so I could feel comfortable," Michel said. "They said they would be using me in the offense in different type of way from the backfield from out receiver, and also that's what they did today was using the running backs all types of ways."

Michel has visited Florida before, but he said this time was different.

"Actually I have seen UF a little bit, but I've seen probably something different today," he said. "I got to see the little TV broadcast room -- you know where they do all the broadcasts and stuff."

Though Michel has a list of top five schools, he said he already knows where he will commit when he makes his decision at the end of the month.

"I know it in my mind -- I know where I am going," Michel said. "I am ready to make the announcement April 26 at 4:30 on CFB Spring Blitz on ESPNU."

So what will be the biggest factor in Michel's decision?

"The biggest factor is how comfortable I feel on campus," Michel said. "I feel like that's the most important part because you have to live there for four years."
