Watch List DL Street to choose from two?
By Kipp Adams
CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- A month ago, ESPN Watch List prospect Kentavius Street (Greenville, N.C./Rose) had a shakeup in his leaderboard after a coaching change occurred at the program he favored at the time. Now it seems things are settling in at the top, although a few other schools are hoping to get the 6-foot-3, 262-pound defensive lineman on campus soon.
Street is set to visit Virginia Tech on April 13, followed by trips to the University of Georgia and Georgia Tech in May.
“Georgia is still my leader, followed by FSU,” Street said. “I really think those are the two schools I will be choosing from, to be honest at this point.”
The Bulldogs are recruiting Street to be a defensive end in their 3-4 defensive front, while the Seminoles like him as a defensive end and outside linebacker. Georgia still has the edge because of a consistent connection with his recruiter of record, as well as ties to the state.
“Georgia is on top for me because of my relationship with the coaching staff,” Street said. “I spoke with Coach (John) Lilly last Saturday, and I really want to enjoy playing for great coaches. The fact that that is my home state and where my family supported me for most of my life means a lot, too.”
As for Florida State, new tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator Tim Brewster is spearheading the recruitment of Street, who plans to make his decision either during an All-American game or on signing day.
