Florida State has apparently made it a priority for their new targets to speak with head coach Jimbo Fisher. Huggins had that chance, too.
"I talked to Coach Fisher," Huggins said. "It was a good experience. I have heard about him, but I haven't heard all of it. It was my first time hearing his voice or meeting him. He said that he loved my highlight tape and that he wanted to give me an offer. He said he really wants me at Florida State."
In addition to Florida State, Clemson, Florida, South Carolina, and now Alabama, have offered. The biggest part about those programs that Huggins notices is how thorough and aggressive they are when it comes to recruiting.
So when those teams come in to offer, Huggins knows it means something.
"I think those teams do a great job of recruiting," he said. "If you can play, they are going to find you. They go out of their way. Clemson went to Brooklyn to find a kid. They go out of their way to find people."
Distance isn't something Huggins has really considered yet. It could be a factor, but for now, he's focused on finding the right fit for him and his family.
"I have to discuss it with my parents," he said. "The in-state schools will be nice. But wherever I can play football at and it is the best education, I'll go."
