LB Mouhon talks FSU visit, top five
By Kipp Adams
ESPN Watch List prospect Kevin Mouhon (Norcross, Ga./Norcross) has seen his recruitment take off since helping his team win the Georgia Class AAAAAA state championship in December. Following a standout performance in the Rising Seniors Junior Bowl, the 6-foot-1, 215 pound linebacker has picked up 10 offers to go along with the five he already held. The second program to offer got Mouhon on campus for a junior day two weeks ago.
“Visiting FSU was a good experience and I think the program is really nice,” Mouhon said. “I remember touring around and them stressing academics. I really like the campus and staff.”
Mouhon was able to tour the facilities and spent some quality time with the Seminoles’ defensive staff. The campus food stood out according to Mouhon, as did a familiar face from the Peach State.
“Charles Kelly, the linebackers coach at FSU, was at Georgia Tech before, so I already knew him pretty well,” Mouhon said. “We were just talking about defense overall and how they plan to run things.”
While Florida State made a solid impression on Mouhon, another school has solidified themselves as a legitimate contender to land the coveted linebacker.
“Florida State is up there on my list,” Mouhon said. “I only know one school that is in my top five right now and that is Tennessee. I am going to give them a chance because I like that place a lot. Their fan base is ridiculous. Everything there felt right and since they gave me an opportunity early on with an offer, I am going to do the same with them.”
Mouhon says he would like to take a visit to see his brother, Cincinnati defensive end Silverberry Mouhon, in his spring game. He also hopes to check out Arkansas and LSU soon.
