2015 ATH Holland garners offers
By Derek Tyson
Athlete Jeffrey Holland (Jacksonville, Fla./Trinity Christian) is only a sophomore, but the 6-foot-2, 225-pound prospect has already earned offers from top schools including Miami (Fla.), UCF, Florida, USF, Florida State, Ohio State, South Carolina and Virginia Tech.
Holland, who is participating on Jacksonville's Pro-Impact team at the New Level Athletics 7-on-7 Southeast Regional tournament, said another big-time program might be close to offering.
"The coach from Alabama came by before signing day said he was going to look at my film," he said, "but I think they are going to offer."
Holland also took in Florida State's junior day last weekend and came away impressed.
"I really liked that," he said. "I loved it. All the coaches showed me love. Coach [Charles] Kelly, the linebackers coach that transferred over from Georgia Tech, he offered me from Georgia Tech, so he followed me and told me I could fit good in their defense. Linebackers sound like they are going to get to the quarterback."
Holland said he plans to visit several schools in a few months.
"During the summer, I am going on a college road trip," he said. "My coach is going to take me on a trip to see Alabama, Ohio State, South Carolina, North Carolina -- I am just going to show all the schools love that have been showing me love."
Holland said he is unsure of when he will make a decision.
"Whatever school just jumps out at me," he said. "I don't know, it is still early."
