FSU lands second back of junior class
By Corey Dowlar
Florida State has its second running back commitment in the fold for 2014.
Kamryn Pettway (Prattville, Ala./Prattville) received an offer from the Seminoles this month. And on his junior day visit to Tallahassee on Saturday, he acted upon it.
"After I got the tour of the school and the campus, I felt like it was the right choice for me," Pettway said of his decision.
A big reason for his choice was the coaching staff. Coaches Jimbo Fisher and Jeremy Pruitt established a relationship with Pettway quick.
When they finally got to meet inside Doak Campbell Stadium, Pettway knew it was the right place for him to be.
"It was nice," he said. "They were talking to me and they just made me feel like this was home."
Of course, the coaches were pleased with his decision, too.
"They said they were pretty excited and they were looking forward to me," Pettway said.
With other junior days and the busy unofficial visit season in full swing, Pettway doesn't expect to go on any more trips. And if he does, the 6-foot, 220-pound back doesn't think it will mean anything.
"Probably not, but if I do, it won't be too important," he said. "I'm solid."
Joseph Yearby (Miami/Central) is the Seminoles' other commitment at the position.
