ESPN 300 Bellamy decommits from FSU

By Corey Dowlar

Florida State has lost its second commitment in as many nights.

Davin Bellamy (Chamblee, Ga./Chamblee) has become the next prospect no longer listed on the commitment list following Austin Golson's (Prattville, Ala./Prattville) decision on Monday.

"Yes, I did," confirmed Bellamy.

The ESPN 300 defensive end is coming off an official visit to Georgia, where soon afterwards he named the Bulldogs his leader and also said Tennessee was above Florida State, but was still a Seminoles commitment.

“We have a new leader in the house,” Bellamy said on Sunday. “I definitely think with this scheme and [Todd] Grantham, the years he has been here, that position has led the SEC in sacks. So the proof is in the pudding. He coached Demarcus Ware, so I feel like with my skill set, he can take it here and I can be like Jarvis Jones and a top-10 pick.

He also said on Sunday that he still was a Florida State commitment and that FSU coach Jimbo Fisher would be visiting him Wednesday to try to convince to stay with the Noles. However, It is unlikely Fisher's scheduled visit will occur given the latest developments.

Tuesday saw an 11th-hour offer from Oregon that got Bellamy's attention. Seemingly immediately afterwards, he set up an official visit to Oregon for Feb. 1.

Bellamy originally committed to Florida State on Aug. 11 at his school's media day.
