Cuse commit Edwards switches up visits

By Jared Shanker

At least one recruit is looking to escape the bitter cold freezing of the northern part of the United States.

Three-star running back Augustus Edwards (Staten Island, N.Y./Tottenville) will thaw out in Miami as the Syracuse commitment will officially visit the Hurricanes the weekend of Feb. 1.

Edwards said he canceled his visit to Rutgers, which was set to begin Friday.

Florida State hosted Edwards, who could also be a fullback, for an official visit last weekend. Following the visit, Edwards said he loved the Seminoles.

He began looking at other schools when Doug Marrone left Syracuse for the Buffalo Bills. The 6-foot-2, 221-pound Edwards is No. 57 nationally among running backs.
