FSU pledge Golson takes SEC official visit
By Greg Ostendorf
ESPN 150 offensive lineman Austin Golson has been committed to Florida State for almost two years, but he’s still taking his official visits to make sure it’s the right choice. Over the weekend, he took an official visit to an SEC school.
Golson made his first trip to Oxford, Miss., to check out Ole Miss.
“I had a really good time,” Golson said. “It’s a good place. We just hung out with the players and coaches. The people were all so nice, good people. The facilities were nice, like everybody’s. The girls are pretty. Everything was great.”
The Ole Miss coaching staff backed off Golson during the season, but they have come on strong in the last month and made quite an impression on his visit.
“They were just telling me that they were in desperate need of offensive linemen and they wanted me, they think I fit the program and stuff like that,” Golson said.
After the visit, the Alabama native says he’s still committed to Florida State, but that Ole Miss would definitely be a possibility. He hasn’t had enough time to think about it yet.
Golson has now taken official visits to Alabama, North Carolina and Ole Miss. He will take his official visit to Florida State next weekend and says he’s still debating a visit to Auburn the last weekend before signing day.
