McLean's first offer is a big one
By Dave Hooker
Adam McLean was a bit surprised when he received his first scholarship offer. Understandably so.
McLean's initial offer didn't come from a smaller school hoping to get a head start on more tradition-rich schools. It came from Florida State.
"I really like the Noles," the sophomore defensive end from Gaithersburg (Md.) Avalon said. "I feel as though they have a great program and are doing great things over there. Never would have expected it but I'm excited."
Florida State's scholarship offer surely won't be McLean's last. The 6-foot-3, 260-pound defensive end said he also has received strong interest from Maryland, Iowa, Missouri and Nebraska. He'll visit Illinois on Jan 26 for a junior day.
