ESPN 300 WR reschedules FSU official
By Corey Dowlar
ESPN 300 wide receiver Isaiah Jones (Milton, Fla./Milton) happens to excel at two sports.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pound prospect also does well for himself on the basketball court, and with some big games coming up his schedule has become a little hectic.
Probably too hectic to take his originally scheduled official visit to Florida State this weekend.
"I had to reschedule for the 25th," he said. "I have some basketball games, some important ones. They told me that I could reschedule it, no problem."
The Florida State commitment made sure to check with the coaches, of course, that this was acceptable.
Jones uses basketball as a diversion, something fresh to participate in. Even though his recruiting isn't as crazy as an uncommitted prospect's might be, it does allow for an escape.
"That is mostly why I play it now," Jones said. "It is just a good break from football. It is just for fun."
The four-star receiver is in regular contact with FSU coach Jimbo Fisher, area recruiter Rick Trickett and receivers coach Lawrence Dawsey. In just about a week-and-a-half, he will be on campus to see them in person.
"I talk to them like almost every week," he said. "I am talking to them a lot. We still get along great and all that."
Jones committed to Florida State last July and was present at The Opening. He had offers from Arkansas, Auburn, FIU, Georgia, Louisville, Marshall, Miami, Tennessee and UCF.
