ACC recruiting storylines: Aug. 22
August, 22, 2013
Not much went on this week for ACC schools on the recruiting front, but that could change in the coming weeks. Elijah Hood, an ESPN 300 running back formerly committed to Notre Dame, has North Carolina in his sights. Clemson and Pittsburgh both host openers with major recruiting implications, and two four-star prospects cut down their lists.

The Tigers begin the season with one of their biggest games of the year, which means it will be one of the biggest games for recruiting for Clemson, too. Georgia comes to Clemson for the opener Aug. 31, and the visitor list for the Tigers is already looking impressive. At the top of the list is David Sharpe, the No. 1 recruit in Florida and No. 15 in the ESPN 300. It will be an unofficial visit for Sharpe, 247 Sports reports, and Sharpe (Jacksonville, Fla./Providence School of Jacksonville) previously visited Clemson this summer. If the visit goes well enough, it opens the door for Sharpe to return on an official visit later on. If Dabo Swinney can land Deshaun Watson from Georgia and Sharpe from Florida, Clemson will have fully emerged as a recruiting power in the southeast.
