ACC class rankings analysis

August, 21, 2013

There has not been much movement among ACC teams in the rankings as it has been relatively quiet on the recruiting front for not just the conference but much of the country. A few teams dropped, but that could change soon, though, due to a decommitment elsewhere that figures to benefit one ACC school.

Trending up: Elijah Hood (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Catholic), the No. 47 player in the ESPN 300, decommitted from Notre Dame on Tuesday, and it appears Hood could commit to North Carolina very soon. Hood, the No. 7 running back, said he wanted to stay close to home before committing to Notre Dame this spring. Now that he is back on the market, the Tar Heels seem like the obvious choice for the No. 5 player in the state. The Tar Heels were a little shocked to initially miss out on Hood, and it was a big blow to a team in desperate need of a backfield mate for ESPN 300 quarterback Caleb Henderson.
