NoleNation takes a quick look at five storylines surrounding Seminole targets at The Opening.
Trey Marshall to decide
Florida State would love to add a defensive back from a nearby school if it could. Trey Marshall (Lake City, Fla./Columbia) will be making a decision at The Opening between Florida State and Mississippi. The three-star prospect has been to Florida State on many occasions and has been recruited by Odell Haggins and Jeremy Pruitt. Right now, the Seminoles are in good shape.
Top-ranked recruit performing
Florida State's top-ranked recruit will be on display at The Opening for all to see. Kain Daub (Jacksonville, Fla./Sandalwood), a four-star, ESPN 300 member at inside linebacker, will have a chance to prove he belongs with the elite, and perhaps even that he should be ranked higher. Daub has lightened up a little bit, so it will be interesting to see how he tests in Oregon.
Top OT prospect in attendance
Damian Prince (Forestville, Md./Bishop McNamara), arguably the top offensive tackle prospect on Florida State’s board, will be in Oregon working out. Fans will get a chance to see just how the big man moves at The Opening and what makes his combination of size and athleticism so effective. Florida State is battling Maryland, Ohio State and Alabama for his signature.
RB target will be on display
Derrell Scott (Havelock, N.C./Havelock) will be performing at The Opening. He is a name high on Florida State's board at running back. The Seminoles might hold a slight edge for him at this time, but there is still a long way to go, and South Carolina will be fighting hard to get him to Columbia. Will the Seminoles continue to hold his attention?
Interior OL target heading out West
Corey Martinez (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Catholic) is still heavily considering Florida State. It's hard to definitively say the Seminoles are in the lead, but it could very well be the case. He is also considering in-state rival Miami as well. Martinez will want to show he can move well during drills at The Opening. The ESPN 300 member is a four-star prospect according to ESPN.
