As the Class of 2013 is nearing the final days before national signing day, NoleNation takes a look at the Class of 2014 and some potential Florida-Florida State battles that are shaping up.
Denzel Ware -- Florida has kept up its pursuit of Ware, a Florida State commitment. The Watch List defensive end made an unofficial visit to see the Gators play at least once this fall, and his giving FSU his verbal isn't scaring off the Gators. Although UF has been persistent in its efforts, Ware says he is firmly committed to the Seminoles. However, if D.J. Eliot were to leave for Kentucky, there could be some kind of impact.
Ryeshene Bronson -- The ESPN Watch List wide receiver made his pledge to the Gators back in June. But since that point, much like Denzel Ware, he has been on Florida State's campus a handful of times. Bronson has given no indication of switching his commitment, but Florida State will likely keep tabs on him throughout the process.
Johnnie Dixon -- Already boasting offers from the major in-state schools, Dixon has earned his place on the ESPN Watch List for 2014. Florida State was heavily recruiting him early, but it seems of late that he is leaning toward the Gators. It would not be a surprise to see him end up in Gainesville.
Sony Michel -- One of the top junior running backs, Michel previously was thought to be considering mainly Georgia, Florida State and Miami. The Gators, though, should be expected to get in this race down the line. The Seminoles already have a commitment from Joseph Yearby, another nearby top junior, so playing time could be an issue. Michel already has one of the more impressive offer lists in the country.
Jake McCrary -- Once a Florida State commitment, McCrary has since opened things back up to make sure he has made the correct decision. He's considering the Seminoles, but the Gators are in there, too, along with Clemson, LSU, Miami and Ohio State. McCrary camped not only at Florida State this summer but also starred at the Gators' Friday Night Lights.
Artavis Scott -- Electric with the ball in his hands and out of the slot, Scott is among the elite prospects in Florida for 2014. Of course, both Florida and Florida State have offered and appear to be on course for his final list down the stretch. Out-of-state programs are a threat, too, including Michigan, Notre Dame and Ohio State.
Travonte Valentine -- Now a Gators commitment, Valentine is pledged to his second program since his recruitment began. He originally committed to Louisville before decommitting and announcing to Florida in July. Florida State has offered, and at one point held the lead for him. Valentine's commitment appears to have shored up to UF, but it is hardly final. Expect FSU to pursue him down the stretch.
Delvin Purifoy -- Purifoy declared Florida State his early leader after the Noles offered the Watch List linebacker. But expect Florida to jump in the mix, too. He has visited both schools and has mutual interest. At 6-foot-2 and 212 pounds, Purifoy has the frame to grow into a major FBS inside linebacker.
